- Abang (1) - It is usually man-made. It is usually built with a hoe and to channel water thru from nearby stream and rivers for the supplying of water into the wet paddy fields.
- Abang (2) - A vegetable that grows on loomy soils. Its leaf looks similar to the leaf of a young coconut seedling. Usually prepared roasted on the fire and also boiled. When cooked, you peel the leaf and collect the soft part of the plant stem. Flavourably with Kelabit salt, its shots are tasty prepared whole or pounded with other indredients such as garlic and ginger. Perhaps because it is found growing near drains, that it is called this name.

- Abang (1) - Biasanya dibuat oleh manusia. Ia dibuat dengan mengunakan cangkul untuk membentukkan saluran air kepada sawah-sawah padi yang memerlukan air.
- Abang (2) - Sejenis sayur yang tumbuh diatas tanah yang subur. Daunnya agak serupa dengan daun pucuk kelapa. Biasanya disalai atas api ataupun direbus. Selepas dimasak, daunnya dikopak dan batangnya yang lembut diambil. Rasanya hebat jika dibubuh dengan garam Kelabit. Ia dimakan sebagai pucuk ataupun diantankan dengan rempah lain seperti bawang putih dan haliah. Kemungkinan namanya diberi kerana sayur ini biasanya dijumpai di tepi parit/longkang.
