Getting Started

We refer you to these resources for HELP:

  • Read the User's Guide for information on using the Mediawiki software.
  • Familiarise yourself with how Wikipedia works, and the way that information similar to what you want to add is organised.
  • If all that code is giving you a headache, I've prepared two templates - one for Terms (for inclusion in dictionary category) and one for People . Use these templates when adding a new term or information on a person so that a minimum amount of information can be captured. You can of course add more information. We'll build this library of templates as we go along. Here's calling all IT experts!!
  • Go on, type a word in Kelabit (but of course) in the search box on the left menu. If the word has not been submitted, a message will prompt you to create this page. Go on JUST DO IT.
  • OR you can go to the OKC WORD LIST and click on any of the words in RED that have not yet been included in the database.

Use the HELP FORUM to answer each other's question.

NOTE on file upload

FAQ - Ask your questions here

1. There are so many different Kelabit related websites. It's confusing where to find information I want.

  • This Wiki aims to be your one-stop information centre. For example:
    • If you look for pages categorised under Technology==> Internet for instance, all the Kelabit and Bario related sites should be listed. To add to this list, simply categorise the new page (article) under Internet by adding this to the bottom of the page:
      [[Category:Internet| page name]]
    • Please add links to Kelabit Bloggers websites as well.
    • Searching for E-Bario in the search box will show you the project link at the UNIMAS website and the E-Bario homepage.

2.Does Wiki support HTML codes?

  • In addition to the formatting tools in the editor window, there is a set of HTML codes that are also permitted. See meta link-- [1]

3. I've made some changes, and saved the article but the changes are not displayed.

  • After saving, you may have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes. Do this:
--IE: Hold Ctrl while clicking Refresh, or press Ctrl+F5.
--Mozilla / Firefox / Safari: Hold down Shift while clicking Reload,
or press Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on Apple Mac).

4. How do I spell...

  • See the pronunciation guide. As far as possible, the words in this Wiki should adhere to this guide. If any suggestions for the pronunciation guide, please use the discussion page to discuss.

5. A word has more than one meaning. What should I do?

  • Number each meaning - see example: urat
